Francisco Zuccarelli (1702-1788) Standing Male Nude

Theodor Krause (1868-1956) Stehender Nackter Jungling - Standing Nude Male Youth

This nice late 19th century Academic drawing of a standing male nude youth should be on its way into my collection this week. Unfortunately, I have been able to come up with any biographic information on the artist.

Dated: ca. 1880-1900

Georg Rank (1855-1938) Academic Male Nude Study

The eBay seller on eBay Austria lowered his prices even further and I grabbed this nice male nude study by Georg Rank (1855-1938) yesterday. It is a mixed-media, charcoal and watercolor on paper and dates from 1903.

Ludwig von Hofmann (1861-1945) - Limited Edition Print - The Bathers, 1922

I bought that limited edition (200 prints) von Hofmann etching from an auction house in Dresden today. It was done by von Hofmann as part of a fund raising venture for a German Museum in 1922, according to the description. I have several other Ludwig von Hofmann prints and love his graphic works. His nudes are always posed in idealized landscapes and seem to have this flowing lyrical quality to them and his compositions seem to have a unique and singular "von Hofmann" movement to them.

P. Leuschner (?) German Artist - Bronze Card Holder - Nude Boy on Lilypad - H. Behrnd Foundry, Dresden -ca. 1900

The Jungendstil utilitarian bronze card holder dating from circa 1900 arrived last week. I almost had to drive myself to the emergency room when I spotted the box sitting on a fence post down at the gate. The stupid postal carrier was too lazy to drive it down to the house and just left it out by the road, which I can't even see from the house. No wonder the US Postal Service is bankrupt. Anyway, it is a beautiful little Symbolist bronze and quite unique. I photographed it from several different angles and posted the photographs below. It appears to have been dropped at one time in its life, thus the breaks in the arms. I have found a bronze restoration specialist who specializes in small bronze repair and I will get an estimate on restoration.
